Emig Suggests:
· Teachers need to write reflexively THEMSELVES (journals, creative writing, etc.)
· Doing this will provide them with a deeper understanding of the writing in different modes.
· They need to gain confidence with writing these various modes so that they can model it with ease.
Emig (1971, p. 100) concludes, “…teacher centered presentation of composition…is pedagogically, developmentally, and politically an anachronism.”
